About Me - The California/Idaho Connection
“We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give.”
--Winston Churchill
Real estate runs in the family. My grandfather Charlie Shawback started his real estate business in the 1950’s in the San Francisco Bay Area. My uncle George Shawback later joined him. Both of them established a reputation of integrity and trust with their clients, something that I can only hope has found its way to me in my everyday business. I got my real estate license in Idaho in 1998 and later my California license in 2004, at which point I began working for Prudential California Reality. It is a natural progression for me: to understand and work in the two states and amazing real estate markets that I know and love.
I was born in Redwood City, California and in 1988 my family and I moved to Sun Valley, Idaho. The move deepened my love for the outdoors and for the West. It also helped me understand that California and Idaho contain all the wonders one would hope to find in the most storied places on Earth. The urban centers you find in San Francisco and in Boise are among the most vibrant anywhere. The rugged coastlines and majestic Sierra Nevada stand up to the reputation of the Alps, and the Rocky Mountains and Snake River Plain define Idaho.
Upon graduating high school I spent a lot of time in California and obtained my Associates Science Degree in Business. While working as sales manager for the largest power sports dealer in the Bay Area, I spent nights studying to obtain my California real estate license and became an agent at Prudential California Realty, Cathedral Hill Office in downtown San Francisco. The experience was immeasurable and I gathered business knowledge far beyond my previous six years in sales and management. Although I had obtained my Idaho license in 1998, it was not until years later that I realized my knowledge of Idaho could benefit my clients tremendously and I started to immerse myself in the marketplace.
I am now able to split my time between Sun Valley, Boise, and the San Francisco Bay Area. This allows me to provide the most up to date market information to my clients and it gives me the flexibility to go to where the best investment is. I have created a vast network of real estate contacts and a versatile group of team members. My website insideoutrealestate.com is the catalyst from which I can connect my clients to the pulse of these markets. The free MLS searches help my clients stay in touch with active properties on their schedule and on their own terms.
I am dedicated to staying on the cutting edge of the real estate business. The innovations in the green building industry and sustainable practices are of particular interest to me. They will stay at the forefront of my business. The priority of making money is being overshadowed by the need to sustain our resources and preserve our way of life. I believe that the only way to truly profit in the real estate business is to be good stewards of the land we own and assure they will provide wealth to future generations.
I found that my connection to California and Idaho was not created by mere coincidence. It is in fact a natural connection between two states that complement each other with their natural beauty and rich histories. From my experience in meeting people all over the world I have begun to understand that many people share my love for these two states. It is a reality that California and Idaho will profit and prosper for many more years with this wonderful partnership.
I look forward to helping you build a successful real estate portfolio. I can be an invaluable resource in your quest for good investments and a rich future. My interest in building lifelong business relationships and my ability to align my goals with those of my clients will only strengthen your success.
Sincerely
Damon Savoia
